SCREAMtv's new approach

Can Ghostface and a supernatural theme really work together?

It's no surprise that a channel such as MTV would add a supernatural twist in their latest and controversial series SCREAMtv which is based off the Scream franchise. With hits such as Teen Wolf, MTV has admitted to adding a supernatural element in this new series.

Weinstein told the Zurich Film Festival audience that there’s no overlap between the series and film franchise, adding that the series “is supposed to represent a new beginning and also pursue a supernatural direction.”

With information like this...twitter rants have yet again began to suggest why this series is a bad idea. "#Supernatural #Themes and #ghostface just don't work together. What the heck is #MTV thinking?! ~@DylanCohen3" is just one of the tweets against this.

This all adds the question....Can Ghostface and a supernatural theme really work together? Looks like we will find out next year.

On a brighter side of things...it turns out Scream 5 may have a chance to reach the cinema. If he gets his way....the Scream franchise will end with a fifth installment.

Weinstein, from The Weinstein Company,  spoke  at the  Zurich Film Festival, in Switzerland, and said a few things about the production of the fifth installment.
"Everyone lived in Scream 4, I'm begging him (Bob Weinstein) to do the movie and just end it. We've milked that cow."
That means he is urging his brother, Bob - who heads Dimension Films -, to put the franchise back on track for a big finale.

I will keep you posted on all updates to do with both these matters.

Ben Affleck Cast As Batman For Batman Vs Superman In 2015

Yep, that's Daredevil
Ladies and gentlemen, Batman has arrived! Earlier today, Warner Bros announced that Academy-Award winner Ben Affleck will be playing Batman, aka Bruce Wayne, in the Man of Steel sequel set for 2015. The actor, writer and director, best known for his award-winning films Argo and Good Will Hunting, was announced as The Caped Crusader this morning, as well as the film's release date, July 17, 2015.

I'm not too sure how I feel about this. Don't get me wrong, Affleck is an amazing actor, but I don't think he's suited for a superhero role (if Daredevil has taught us anything), but I'm willing to give him one chance to prove me wrong. He'll join Welshman Henry Cavill, who will reprise his role as Superman, on screen for the sequel, as well as in 2017 for the Justice League film.

I guess we'll have to wait and see how he does.

Review: Elysium (2013)

Director: Neill Blomkamp
Writer: Neill Blomkamp
Starring: Matt Damon, Jodie Foster, Sharlto Copley

The Plot:
In the late 21st century, Earth was overpopulated, and became overly polluted. The rich and wealthy now live on Elysium, a high-tech space station free of disease, violence, war etc. while the underprivileged remain on Earth. Fast forward to 2152, and Max de Costa (Damon), a factory worker on Earth with a criminal record, gets into an accident at work and gets exposed to a fatal amount of radiation. He's given only 5 days to live, and enlists the help of an old friend to try and get to Elysium to cure the radiation poisoning. Max gets a robotic exo-skeleton attached to him which makes him stronger, and holds information vital to breaking into Elysium.

The problem here lies in Elysium's military, led by Defense Secretary Delacourt (Foster), who will stop at nothing to keep Elysium free of illegal immigrants from Earth. Delacourt plans on overriding Elysium's systems so she can become President. With the help of an agent by the name of Kruger (Copley), who has a similar exo-skeleton to Max, Delacourt intends to steal the information held by Max to override Elysium's systems. Max also tries to help the daughter of an old friend who has been diagnosed with leukemia, by taking her to Elysium to cure her.

Comments:
Amazing. Elysium was an absolutely fantastic film. Blomkamp did a wonderful job in creating both the ravaged, polluted Earth and the pristine, corrupted-government run Elysium. Each character was perfectly cast. Damon and Foster delivered stand-out performances as Max and Delacourt. Everything about the film was done excellently. The writing, the story, the direction from Blomkamp, all amazing, very reminiscent of Blomkamp's previous film District 9.

Rating:
9.5/10

Paranormal Activity 5 Release Date Confirmed; A New Paranormal Activity Coming Out In January

Some pretty fancy yoga going on around here.
Good news, horror fans! Paranormal Activity 5 is on its way. And, despite being pushed back, it will still keep to the tradition of a Halloween release, being released October 24 next year. Fans were disappointed when the fifth installment of the found-footage horror series was delayed from this year to next year. I am a fan of the series simply because it is so different from other horror movies, so I'm actually looking forward to PA5.

In other Paranormal Activity news, it has been announced that another Paranormal Activity movie, called Paranormal Activity: The Marked Ones, will come out in January 2014. The spin-off will be Latino-focused, and will include a Catholic inquiry into all paranormal activity.

I'm unsure about The Marked Ones, but I'm still going to watch both with an open mind. Let's just see how they turn out.

Introducing The 12th Doctor: Peter Capaldi

Maybe this isn't the most flattering photo...
The world went crazy today when BBC announced who would be replacing Matt Smith on the widely popular sci-fi series Doctor Who, and that man is Scottish actor Peter Capaldi. Capaldi, perhaps best known by his role in another BBC series The Thick Of It, as well as guest appearances on other shows like Torchwood, was announced to play the 12th incarnation of The Doctor, starting after Matt Smith leaves the show at the end of the year.

Capaldi is an amazing actor, and Whovians (that's what Doctor Who fans call themselves) went wild when it was revealed today that he would take on the role. I think Capaldi would do a terrific job as The Doctor, and it's nice to see a more mature face playing the role again. Capaldi will take over the role from Smith after the Christmas special, just after the 50th anniversary special in November. I can't wait.

More Updates On 22 Jump Street, Including Reason Behind The Title And More

"Well, one of us is going to have to change."
With filming beginning in September for the sequel to the 2012 comedy hit 21 Jump Street, aptly named 22 Jump Street, directors Phil Lord and Chris Miller have announced some more news regarding the sequel. In a recent interview with Collider.com, Lord and Miller revealed they were returning to direct the sequel. They also compared the relationship between Jonah Hill and Channing Tatum in the movie to a marriage, stating "if the first movie is about two people getting together for the first time, this is about what happens if you try to really make the relationship work."

Lord and Miller also revealed why the sequel is called 22 Jump Street, saying "it's called 22 Jump Street because the move across the street." Makes sense if you think about it. I can't wait for this to come out next year. I loved the first one and I'm sure this one will be amazing.

"Poltergeist" Remake begins Casting

Without Heather O'Rourke will this movie be able to succeed?

The very controversial remake of "Poltergeist" has officially began casting announcing Rosemarie Dewitt (Promised Land, AMC's Mad Men) has been cast for the leading female role in the film. Gil Kenan (Monster House) is set to direct from a screenplay by David Lindsay-Abaire (Oz The Great and Powerful). The film is being produced by Sam Raimi (Evil Dead) and Rob Tapert (The Possession) by Ghost House Pictures.

Fans aren't happy to see this petrifying classic being dabbled with, which is completely understandable especially since Heather O'Rourke (Carol), the young girl that says "There Back" in the original classic died at only 12 years old. Fans are angry that they are going to ruin her memory with this new remake. With little hope, fans will just have to wait and see if this remake can pull it off.

20,000 Leagues Under The Sea Project Is Dead

I wonder how manny Weight Watchers points that guy is.
It looks like the new film adaption of Jules Verne's classic novel 20,000 Leagues Under The Sea is dead, and has been for months apparently. David Fincher was going to direct the film, which was going to shoot in Australia. The Sydney Morning Herald reported months ago that the film was still looking for a lead, and that the film would create many new jobs for Australians and boost the Australian economy. That was apparently a lie to try and attract any studios still willing to back the project.

Despite the backing by Disney, the film could never land a leading male. Brad Pitt passed on the film to work on another film, Channing Tatum thought it wasn't "bankable enough", Daniel Craig and Matt Damon passed due to the long schedule, and Fincher disagreed with the idea of Chris Hemsworth as the star. Too bad, I was looking forward to this. I love the novel, and seeing what direction Fncher would take it.

Cory Monteith Found Dead In Vancouver, Aged 31

Sad news has struck Hollywood as Canadian actor Cory Monteith was found dead in his Vancouver apartment earlier today. Though the cause of death is not certain as of now, it seems to be an apparent overdose.

Monteith, best known for his role as Finn on Glee, was an amazing actor. He had his whole life ahead of him, and he will be sadly missed. Rest in peace, Cory.

The Heat (2013) review

The Heat (2013)

Director:Paul Feig
Writer: Katie Dipold
Staring:Sandra Bullock
Melissa McCarthy
Demian Bichir
Marlon Wayans
Micheal Rapaport
Genre: Comedy, Action and Crime.

Plot:
FBI Agent, Sarah Ashburn (Bullock) , has her eye on promotion but she isn't liked by her co-workers. She is sent to Boston  to discover the identity of  Mr. Lassen, a drug lord.  Once arriving, Ashburn realises that Lassen is eliminating his competition by killing them.  Shannon Mullins (McCarthy) who is a very territorial police officer, sneaks her way onto the case. At first reluctant, Ashburn  agrees to work with Mullins . Together the two try to track down this mysterious Lassen. They will do anything to bring him down. When Lassen discovers this, he makes it personal. Now Mullins will do anything to finish the job.

Review:
Hysterical moments tied in with the intense storyline made a classic enjoyable film. Hysterical moments spread throughout the movie were very plausible...and by the sound of the the theatres laugh, everyone enjoyed it. Sandra Bullock, returned to a FBI role after  Miss Congeniality and she did not disappoint. Melissa  McCarthy was absolutely hysterical. She did a fantastic job at playing Mullins. Her character was rather enjoyable and very very enthusiastic and passionate. She also had this soft side seen with her family.

But back to the movie...The Heat did not disappoint. Full with the action,  and comedy...we were able to witness two  completely different people trying to work together to bring down the drug lord Lassen. Although predictable at times, the chemistry between the two characters is just great.

Mullins constant use of swear words could have been toned down a bit after using a swear word in nearly every single one of her sentences. I went in thinking 'd get a "classic buddy cop" movie mixed with stupid humor like Adam Sandler's "Jack and Jill". I was proved wrong because what I got was a fast-paced, situational based humor, with a great, orriginal, storyline. It delivers laughs like a comedy should and adds a fun to follow storyline.

I seriously suggest you go and watch the hysterical movie.

Rate:IMDb  has a rate of 7.4. I personally believe it is worth an 8.5.

Disagree? I'm sure many people will due to the very mixed emotions about this movie. How do you feel about the movie? Feel free to comment.

Thanks for reading.

Dumb And Dumber To Will Begin Filming In September; Jeff Daniels Comments On The Script

My reaction to hearing the news of a sequel
Well, development on the sequel to perhaps one of the greatest comedies ever, Dumb And Dumber, is underway. Universal Studios has acquired the rights to the sequel, called Dumb And Dumber To, and both Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels are reprising their roles as Lloyd and Harry. The Farrelly Brothers and coming back to both write and direct the sequel, hoping for a September 2014 release.

Jeff Daniels recently appeared on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon, and they discussed the sequel. Daniels said that filming begins in September. He said he has seen the script, which he loves, and that “we’re middle-aged, we’re not pretending we aren’t. We’re middle-aged and we’re still that stupid.”

I personally can not wait for this to come out. The first on was hysterical, and 'm sure this one will be too.

Curse of Chucky Trailer Released

Earlier today, the Official "Curse of Chucky" trailer was released. This 6th film in the franchise is direct to DVD and Blu-Ray on October 8 and doesn't have a cinema release. This angered some fans for such a franchise like "Child's Play".

Unlike the previous two films "Bride of Chucky" and "Seed of Chucky" which took a different approach with comedy, this one will live up to the original trilogy with horror as it's major genre. Also, Tiffany and Glen/Glenda do not take any part in this film and focuses purely just on Chucky...the famous "good guy" doll we all fell in love with.

Curse of Chucky stars Brad Dourif who has voiced Chucky throughout the entire franchise. It also stars Danielle Bisutii (Insidious:Chapter 2), Fiona Dourif (True Blood), Brennan Elliott (Double Jeopardy) and Chantal Quesnelle (Blue Mountain State).

The R-rated film follows the events after Child's Play 3.

After the events of Child's Play 3, Nica, a young woman forced to a wheelchair since birth, has to regroup her sister, Barb and her brother-in-law, Ian for a funeral after the death of her mother. While dealing with Barb, Ian, along with their 5-year-old daughter, Alice; Nica receives an odd package - a creepy doll. After people start showing up dead, the fearless Nica soon suspects that the creepy doll is much more than just a doll.~Shawn Martin (IMDb).

Below is the long awaited and anticipated trailer.

U3D Casts: SCREAMtv

SCREAMtv, the new anticipated film to TV sensation reaches our TV's in Summer 2014. Casting has been rumoured to begin and rumours are spreading fast of possible actors and actresses. So, today, Unnecessary 3D fan-casts SCREAMtv.

Hayden Panettiere, the very popular actress, stared in Scream 4 with her character "Kirby" as an instant sensation. Her fate in the fourth film was never revealed and sources said that if there were to be a "Scream 5", she would definitely be in....maybe as the new female lead. This is why she is a very popular choice for the new TV series. Fans would follow especially if she were to be Kirby Reed. Kirby was said to be the female version of Randy. If Hayden were to take the lead of the franchise to college/university, Ghostface would have a new bunch of kids to kill...the next generation.

Sophia Bush, star of One Tree Hill, The Hitcher and Stay Alive surely is known for her amazing acting. This
actress was originally rumoured to be in Scream 5 as Sidney's
new love's sister. She was said to be a main character. However,
after the news of SCREAMtv, fans jumped at the chance and made
teasers with Sophia Bush in the middle next to Kirby. Of course, Sophia
could pull a role like this off. She's hot, great and definitely not new
to the horror genre. Sophia Bush would do absolutely amazing
in this new series.

Hilary Duff, was also rumoured to be in Scream 5 as Kirby's best friend. She has the hot looks to pull of any role she wants.  This former Disney star has really grown up since her Lizzie McGuire days. Hilary would be perfect...you could see her as a new Tatum like character.

Image of Kellan Lutz

Kellan Lutz. This Twilight star has many talents. Said to be the love interest of the new main in the horror series should actually be quite easy for him. One of the upcoming actors of this century, SCREAMtv could really launch his career even bigger. He could actually do quite well in the series...who knows, he might even be the man behind the mask. His already massive fan-base would grab an audience...so it would be a very smart, strategic move to have this guy.

Image of Logan Lerman

Logan Lerman, mostly known for his role in The Perks of being a Wallflower is one of the biggest possible actors rumoured. This up and rising star could play the nerd character in the series. His strong and great acting in previous films really gives sympathy  to characters so he could add quite a strong point to the series.

Ashley Rickards, an American actress sure is on the way up. Season 6 star of One Tree Hill and a main of Awkward , this star has no problem in stretching from different characters. She has the look to be a college student easy...being a bitchy cheerleader or a smart nerd. She can pull of any roles.

Luke Mitchell, former star of Australian Soap Home and Away and star of new SciFi series "The Tomorrow People" set for a release on CW this fall, would be a great candidate for a show like this. His acting abilities are quite amazing and after only one month overseas, he managed to get a massive role. Luke could really be any character. It would be great too see him in a series like this as well. It will really range his options.

After a few weeks of confirmation, fans have gone overboard with "teasers". So who do you think will be great for a role like this? SCREAMtv is set for a 2014 release. Auditions have been rumoured to start and the script is supposedly being written. The writer and everyone involved in the project is tight lipped however.
Let us know in the comments who you think is involved.

Captain Planet Movie On The Way At Sony

Mmm... that chiseled chin
With our powers combined, we finally have good news about our favourite green-haired eco-warrior. The folks over at Sony have announced that a film adaption of the 90's animated series Captain Planet and the Planeteers. The series focused on a group of teenagers from around the world who are chosen by Gaia to defend the earth from pollution etc. When the problem is too big for them to handle, they combine their powers and call upon Captain Planet, a superpowered elemental warrior who uses the powers of Fire, Water, Earth, Air and Heart to defeat the villains.

I do like Captain Planet, and the series was well done. With voice of Whoopi Goldberg as Gaia, and a special appearance by Neil Patrick Harris in one epsiode, the series was extremely popular around the world. Though we have seen sort of a sneak peek when Don Cheadle played Captain Planet in a Funny Or Die sketch, we haven't really had any live-action adaption. I hope Sony does this well.

Marvel Apparently Looking To Talk With Vin Diesel

PUT ME IN YOUR MOVIE NOW!
Okay, I know that some of you guys don't like superhero posts, but I felt this needed to be shared. Action superstar Vin Diesel took to his Facebook page today and said that “Marvel has requested a meeting… no idea what for… haha, you probably know better than me…” Seems interesting. Diesel has always been a favourite of mine, and I'd love to see him in a superhero movie.

Diesel, best known for his roles in the Fast & Furious series and The Chronicles of Riddick, is only in early talks at the moment. This doesn't mean he's definitely going to be in a Marvel movie, but it is an interesting idea. To have Marvel look for someone like Diesel for a character is promising for more big, buff characters. Fans have already speculated what characters Diesel could play, including the main villain for The Avengers 2 Thanos. I can't wait to hear more of this.

Knight Rider Movie Adaption On The Way

Is he driving with his feet?
It seems like 80's TV fans have another reboot to look forward to as a film adaption of Knight Rider is in the works. Currently, The Weinstein Company owns the rights to Knight Rider, and it was announced the Brad Copeland (Wild Hogs) is attached to write the script.

The series originally starred David Hasselhoff as Michael Knight, a detective who was brought back to life as a high-tech crime fighter, fighting alongside his vehicle sidekick K.I.T.T. Hasselhoff has said in the past he wants to be involved in one way or another, but there is no word on whether William Daniels (the voice of K.I.T.T.) will come back.

I've always loved the concept behind Knight Rider, but never got around to watching it myself. I can't wait to see how this film turns out.

First Trailer For The LEGO Movie Released

Town may or may not be included
I know I'm late on this, but the first trailer for The LEGO Movie was released earlier this week. The story revolves around Emmet, an ordinary LEGO man who is mistaken for the only person who can save the world from the evil President Business, and gets help along the way from various LEGO characters. This is LEGO's first big movie, and it looks amazing.

The trailer gives a basic run-down of the story, as told by a very holy-looking character, perfectly voiced by Morgan Freeman, as well as giving us a look at some of Emmet's LEGO allies, including Batman, the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and a 1980's astronaut. This movie is going to be great, and the sets are amazingly crafted. I can't wait for it.

Here's the trailer:

Ubisoft Looking For Far Cry, Rabbids and Watch Dogs Movie Adaptions

This is how we should all get around
A lot has been happening in the gaming world in the past few days with the E3 expo going on. Microsoft, Sony and Nintendo have all announced big news regarding games and consoles, but what most interests me is what Ubisoft has in mind. With Splinter Cell, Assassin's Creed and Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon being set up for film adaptions, the French game studio is apparently looking at some other properties to get the same treatment. Ubisoft wants their games Far Cry, Rabbids and Watch Dogs to be adapted into feature films.

Far Cry has been adapted before, starring Til Schweiger as the protagonist, but it would be interestinng to see how they make the new one. Rabbids has always been a favourite of mine, and I see the Rabbids similar to the Minions in Despicable Me. As for Watch Dogs, it could be something along the lines of The Bourne Identity crossed with The Matrix. As for now, we don't know much except that they're planning it. Let's just wait and see.

21 Jump Street Sequel Called, You Guessed It, 22 Jump Street

Starring Fabio and Eminem.
Movies that have numbers in their titles are always hard to name when it comes to sequels. 300 dodged a bullet when they announced their upcoming sequel/spin-off 300: Rise of the Empire. Today's news came as a bit of a shock, but actually quite expected. It was announced that the sequel to 2012's comedy hit 21 Jump Street, starring Channing Tatum and Jonah Hill, will be called 22 Jump Street.

Not much is known about this film quite yet, except that it will find Tatum and Hill infiltrating a college, and that Ice Cube will return as Captain Dickson. I loved the first film, but haven't got around to watching the original series yet, even though it kick-started Johnny Depp's career. I can't wait for this to come out, but I'll have to until June 2014.

First Images From The Black Comedy 'Birdman' Starring Michael Keaton

Keaton followed by Beetlejuice Batman Birdman
Let me start by saying this is not a superhero movie in the common sense. The story follows an old actor (played by Michael Keaton) who is famous for playing an iconic superhero (Birdman) in a movie who is struggling to mount a Broadway play, and has to deal with his family and his ego. I'm excited for this movie, and I love Keaton.

These images show Keaton being followed by his superhero character in the streets of New York. It's unclear whether Birdman is just a figment of Keaton's imagination, or someone dressed as Birdman is actually following him. I'm leaning towards the first one. But, the detail on the suit is amazing, and the costume designer should be proud.

New Bond Film Gets It's Bond Girl; Director Still Unconfirmed

I've got a gun. Your argument is invalid.
This week has been big for the 24th James Bond film. Early this week, we had rumours of directors like Nicolas Winding Refn (Drive), Ang Lee (Life of Pi) and Shane Black (Iron Man 3) were being considered. Then, Skyfall director Sam Mendes, who previously stated he wouldn't come back, was in talks to come back for the new Bond film, and even the one after (maybe). I think Mendes is a great choice, Skyfall was by far the best Bond film, so bringing him back would be best for Bond.

Now that's out of the way, earlier today we got news of the next Bond girl. Yahoo! reports that Oscar-winning actress Penélope Cruz (Vicky Christina Barcelona, Pirates of the Carribean 4) will be the Bond girl in the next film. For those who don't know what a Bond girl is, it's basically the lead actress/actresses in each Bond film.

With filming on the new Bond film beginning next year, we should expect it to be out by 2015, 2016 at the most.

The Expendables 3 Gets 4 New Cast Members

Alright, I'm in.
The third installment to the hit action film series starring everybody' favourite 80's action stars has found more action stars to star. The Expendables 3, produced by  Sylvester Stallone, has signed on four more big names to the roster. These are Wesley Snipes, Jackie Chan, Milla Jovovich and audience favourite, Nicolas Cage. I love all of these actors, and finally, we're getting gender equality in this.

There have been rumours going around for a while about Snipes, Chan and Cage being in this, but this is the first I've heard about Jovovich, and I'm pleasantly surprised. I'm glad to see Stallone finally adding a female into the mix. And this gives us more of an idea of how the all-female Expendables would work, maybe it could be a spin-off of this. Either way, I'm excited to see it.

On My Watchlist: World War Z

Zombies. Zombies everywhere. I know that would throw a lot of people off because zombies have been done time and time again, but this looks amazing. From the trailer alone, it had me hooked. The story goes like this. A pandemic breaks out all over the world. People are being infected faster than they can be cured. Brad Pitt plays Gerry Lane, a United Nations employee, who is tasked with the job of "solving the problem" of the outbreak, while protecting his family, his friends, and the whole world. But, you know, no pressure!

From director Marc Forster (Quantum of Solace, Machine Gun Preacher), and based on the novel by Max Brooks, it looks like we have a hit action/thriller zombie film on the way.

Here's the trailer:

Texas Chainsaw Massacre 3D (2013) Review

Evil Wears Many Faces

Okay, well this review is a bit late but the restriction of horror in Australia is quite bad. So here is my review for the 2013 release of Texas Chainsaw Massacre 3D.

Director: John Luessenhop

Writer:   Adam Marcus,
              Debra Sullivan
              Kristen Elms.

Staring:  Alexandra Daddario
              Dan Yeager
              Trey Songz
              Scott Eastwood
              Tania Raymonde

Plot: In 1974, after the first massacre, the townspeople suspected the Sawyer family were to blame. A mob of locals surrounded the family home and burnt it to the ground, killing every last member of the family. Years later, Heather, a young woman finds out that she was adopted and is the last heir of the Sawyer family. She then inherits a Texas estate from her grandmother. She decides to bring her friends on a road trip to investigate her shocking inheritance. It is then when she discovers she has inherited a mansion. However, a certain terror waits for them in the basement....Leatherface...and he gives them a "blood-full" night they will not forget.

Review: As a horror freak, who loved the original classic based on a true story, I was overall happy with how the film played out....they had the massive mystery aspect in this film which was really good along with the normal horror/thriller. It would have been good to use more scares in the film. Unlike most horror films, this had a lot of character development especially with Heather, the main character of the film. You could see how she changed throughout the film.

The effects were used quite good as always. What I would have liked to see is more of the deaths scenes. They happened far to quickly for my liking. It would have been good too see it progress over some time like they have used in previous horror films. Not only did I want too see longer death scenes, but I wanted too see more deaths. The death count for Leatherface in this film was not high enough compared to the previous films. Hopefully, if they get the chance, they can make much more of an impact by showing how strong Leatherface actually is.

Rating: Overall, the film was quite good. I give it a 5.9/10. If there were a little more suspense with more deaths, it could have been such a great movie for horrors.

U3D Casts: Justice League

Bad. Ass.

So, we all know that the Justice League movie is coming out in 2015, right? If not, now you know. People all over the internet have been sharing their picks for who they think should play the heroes. The line-up was leaked a while back, and it seems Warner Bros and DC Comics have played it safe by having the five more known characters (Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Green Lantern and Flash) to not only appeal to comic fans, but also a much broader audience.

Comic fans may argue saying that other characters like Aquaman and Martian Manhunter should be included, but I say that the wider audience DC and Warner Bros are trying to appeal to wouldn't really know them. But, saying that, I'm not saying they won't be included, whether they're cameo appearances or get their own movies later on. I've decided to include a few extra characters to say who should play them if the chance arises.

Now, if you read this and think that someone in Marvel's recent films should be in it, I'm just going to say now they won't be. Most of them have signed multi-film contracts to Marvel, so they can't sign a multi-film contract with DC. It's common sense. You may be upset by this (I know I'm still upset about Marvel stealing Anthony Mackie from me, he was my Green Lantern originally), but just bear with it. We have to start looking at not only who should do it, but also who could do it and who would do it.

Let's get started!

Superman/ Clark Kent- Henry Cavill
Okay, so with Man of Steel coming out this year, it's most likely going to be a success. And I'm not talking a
bit of a success, I'm talking huge profits, Dark Knight-like, success. It's no wonder that star of Man of Steel, Welshman Henry Cavill will reprise his role in Justice League. From what I've seen in the trailers, he gives a great job and a very convincing performance as Superman. Now, this is only going off the idea that Man of Steel is a success (which it most probably will be). If it isn't however, the folks over at DC and Warner Bros will have to choose his replacement. I suggest my second choice, Jon Hamm. I haven't seen much of Mad Men, but what I have seen of it, Hamm is amazing in it. He definitely can pull it off if Cavill isn't re-cast.

Batman/ Bruce Wayne- Michael Fassbender
Now, before you guys freak out by saying Christian Bale or Joseph Gordon-Levitt should be Batman because of The Dark Knight Rises, that isn't going to happen. Christopher Nolan said he isn't going to be involved in Justice League, Bale said he won't be coming back, and JGL said his character John Blake isn't Robin the superhero, but his name is just a tribute to the character. So there. Anyway, that's why we need a new Batman. I vote for Michael Fassbender. Best known for his roles in Inglourious Basterds, X-Men: FIrst Class and Shame, Fassbender is an absoloutely fantastic actor. I think he can play both the suave playboy billionaire Bruce Wayne, and also the mysterious, brooding and menacing Batman. If they don't go for Fassbender however, I think Guy Pearce could also do a great job.

Wonder Woman/ Princess Diana of Themyscira- Gina Carano
Wonder Woman needs to be a woman who is tough, but equally good-looking. That's why I chose Gina Carano. A former American Gladiator and mixed-martial artist turned actress, Carano is the embodiment of tough-meets-sexy. She has been in a few action roles in her career, most recently Haywire, and soon to be in Fast & Furious 6, Carano has shown that she can kick ass. She is amazingly good-looking, but also can prove herself when fighting. That's why she not only should be Wonder Woman, but would be terrific as her. But, if DC and Warner Bros decide against it, I suggest In Time and TRON: Legacy star Olivia Wilde as a back-up option. She too would make a very good Wonder Woman.

The Flash/ Barry Allen- Bradley Cooper
I had a hard time choosing The Flash, and he was actually the last one in this list I decided on. There were a lot of actors on my radar, which I'll get to later, but ultimately decided on Silver Linings Playbook star Bradley Cooper. A lot of people underestimated Cooper's acting ability until Silver Linings Playbook, and to be honest, I did too. But, he has proven himself in my eyes, and I think because of his comedic experience and his more action-like roles (thinking back to Limitless), Cooper can definitely play The Flash. He has the look and general wise-cracking vibe about him that shows he can be The Flash. Like I said before, The Flash was hard to cast. I thought of people like Chris Pine, Michael Rosenbaum and even James Franco, who could all do excellent as The Flash.

Green Lantern/ Hal Jordan- Matt Bomer
I think everyone agrees with me when I say that Ryan Reynolds shouldn't come back as Green Lantern. Even he does, he said in a recent interview that he'd only come back if things changed for the better. So, DC and Warner Bros should make a smart move in choosing someone that isn't Ryan Reynolds. I think that White Collar and Magic Mike star Matt Bomer would make a great Hal Jordan. He can bring that certain wise-cracking, yet serious edge that is needed for Green Lantern. Even though Bomer wasn't my first choice, with Taylor Kitsch and Jared Leto being in my mind at one point, after a lot of thinking, Bomer won my heart. Still, anyone is better than Ryan Reynolds.

So, now that the official roster is out of the way, I'm going to list some other Justice League members that may or may not be in the movie, or their own movies, and who should play them.

Martian Manhunter/ J'onn J'onzz- Christopher Judge
Originally, I thought of actors that were really buff and physically strong. Vin Diesel and David Bautista came to mind, but then I thought of how Martian Manhunter would work on screen. He will most likely be CGI, so that isn't going to be a problem. But, someone has to voice him. Now, this one took a bit of research, mainly involving watching YouTube clips of TV shows and movies, just to hear what actors sounded like. Then I came across Stargate star Christopher Judge. I haven't watched Stargate, but watching interviews and clips of him, I realized that Judge would make a great voice for Martian Manhunter. Plus, if need be, he could even play him physically, he has the body for it.

Aquaman/ Arthur Curry- Kellan Lutz
A lot of people think that Aquaman is useless and that he can only speak to fish. That's not true. When he comes in contact with water, he gains superhuman strength and agility. Plus, he has a fairly big backstory. So, he needs someone who can pull off strong, noble and complex characters. That's when Kellan Lutz comes in. The Twilight star has appeared in many films over the years, including Immortals where he played God of the Sea Poseidon. So, playing Ruler of the Sea Aquaman isn't that far of a stretch. If Lutz isn't chosen, then I suggest Liam Hemsworth as an alternative. But, Lutz is definitely my frst choice.

Green Arrow/ Oliver Queen- Charlie Hunnam
Yeah, you read that correctly. It's not Stephen Amell from the series Arrow. I don't get why people keep recasting him. He's not going to be in the movie. So, here's my choice. I have four words for you. Watch Sons of Anarchy. Watch Sons of Anarchy and then you'll realize why I chose Charlie Hunnam. He does an amazing job as Jax on it and I think he'd do an equally amazing job as Green Arrow. He looks like he can pull it off, and he can lead a cast like no one I know. Hunnam would be perfect for Green Arrow, but The Killing star Joel Kinnaman or TRON: Legacy's Garrett Hedlund would both do well in the role.

So, those are my choices. If you have any comments or questions, leave them in the comments and don't be afraid to suggest some of your choices for the Justice League. Well, thanks for reading, and I hope you stay! Bye!

SCREAMtv confirmed...but what does that mean for Scream 5?

After speculation for many months, MTV has finally gained the rights to create the movie franchise Scream into a weekly TV show. News like this spread viral over the internet within hours and backlash already started to occur with fans stating "This has got to be the worst news since Volcano's release" and "You have got to be kidding me? What a way to ruin ghostface." Fans are not taking it lightly.

The first official teaser was released last week.
Wes Craven however, the director of the four films, was asked to be part of the new product that will air next year in 2014. He stated on his twitter account, he must see a script first before signing on to the project. News like this also had Craven ask what fans would rather....SCREAMtv or Scream 5. Scream 5 was the much more popular answer.

However, with it becoming a TV show, will Scream 5 really be possible to happen? A TV show as well as a new trilogy is highly unlikely, but fans are still demanding for the anticipated film we were promised to begin filming in 2011 after the release of the fourth film.

There is no information stating whether Kevin Williamson, the writer of the four films, will be a part of the program. However, with his very popular and successful series, The Following, heading into a second season, I doubt he will have time in his schedule.

The main trio of the four films, Sidney (Neve Campbell), Gale (Courtney Cox) and Dewey (David Arquette) are not known to be involved at the given time. Plenty of rumours however state that all three will appear in cameos only to be killed off early in the series. Some people hate this idea however as it will be the definite end to the franchise in film version.

First Look At Marvel's Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D. Coming To ABC

Didn't he... die?
Within the last week, television networks have been announcing which of their shows have been picked up, renewed or cancelled. Well, over at ABC, one particular show has been picked up for a full season. That show is Marvel's Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D. that starts later this year. Marvel has given us a sneak peek at the show by releasing a 32-second trailer.

The trailer shows the series' star Clark Gregg, who plays Agent Phil Coulson. If you remember back to The Avengers, Phil Coulson died at the hands of Loki, so how they're going to explain why he's back is a big question. The trailer also gives us a look at some of the series' main cast and agents, as well as having cameos of The Avengers themselves. I'm excited for this, and I hope it turns out well.

Fox Considering Bringing Back 24

Nothing more appealing than ominous glowing numbers...
Any fans of 24 up in here? Well, apparently there are plans over at Fox to bring back the hit series. The series focused on special agent Jack Bauer (played by Kiefer Sutherland), who worked alongside the government to take down terrorists. The show ended in 2010 after 8 very successful seasons, and there were even rumours of a film adaption. The success of the show is indisputable and a possible return I'm sure will get fans excited.

Apparently, Fox is considering bringing it back as a limited season (meaning a few episodes and a storyline that will be wrapped up in those episodes, without cliffhangers and the such). What's more interesting is that Howard Gordon, the show's original frontrunner and who's now working on the show Homeland, is the one who brought up the idea to Fox. And, to top it off, Kiefer Sutherland is apparently in talks to return as Jack Bauer. This sounds interesting, and I'm sure that fans will watch it either way.

First Trailer For The World's End Has Arrived

Nothing like a good beer.
The first trailer for the hit comedy The World's End has come out. The movie stars Simon Pegg and Nick Frost, the comedic duo from films like Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz and Paul. The film is about a group of five friends who go on a tour of a whole lot of pubs in order to get to one called The World's End, but find out that humankind is in danger.

I'm excited about this movie. I love Pegg and Frost. There's something about them that makes me crack up every time they're on screen together. This sounds like it's going to be another classic Pegg/ Frost comedy, and any fan of theirs will love them.

Here's the trailer:

Fantastic Four Reboot Gets Early Casting Rumours

Is that Captain America?
Okay, so the Fantastic Four reboot is coming together quit nicely over at Fox. With Chronicle director Josh Trank at the helm and producer of Kick-Ass Matthew Vaughn involved, all that's left is the cast. Well, we've got word that Fox is already looking at some stars to fill the roles. There's word that Fox is already got some actors "in talks" for the roles of Human Torch and Invisible Woman, apparently.

It seems they are looking at star of HBO's hit show Girls Allison Williams for Sue Storm/ Invisible Woman. I haven't actually seen Girls, but my brother has and he said that she's amazing in it. I'm not so sure about it, I need to see Girls before I make any judgements. But, at this point, anyone is better than Jessica Alba.

Now, moving on to another cast rumour. It seems that Chronicle star Michael B Jordan has been having talks with Fox for Human Torch, previously played Captain America himself, Chris Evans. I actually have seen Chronicle, and Jordan is amazing in it. He could pull off Johnny Storm.

"But wait?" I hear you ask, "Aren't Human Torch and Invisible Woman siblings?" Well, yes they are. "Well, if they're siblings, then how come they want two different raced people to play them?" Well, I don't think it matters. Fox is obviously looking for great actors and actresses to play the roles, regardless of race. That's something that can easily be fixed by saying one's adopted or they're step-siblings or something. Don't freak out. If you want to cry over them casting a different raced person than the comics, complain about Samuel L Jackson as Nick Fury or Jamie Foxx as Electro.

Bryan Singer Teases The Return Of Hugh Jackman For X-Men: Days Of Future Past

Even superheroes get itchy scalps...
With production well under way in director Bryan Singer's X-Men: First Class sequel, X-Men: Days Of Future Past, the director has been tweeting a lot of pictures from the set. And I mean, a lot. He has already put up photos of Patrick Stewart as Professor X, Halle Berry as Storm and a bunch of other returning characters. But today's revelation came as a bit of a surprise to most, as he tweeted out this photo:
I know right? If you can't make out who this is, I'm going to straight up tell you. This is none other than Hugh Jackman in costume as Wolverine. I know it's hard to tell by this angle, but no one else has the same haircut or mutton chops. I was on the fence about whether he'd be in this one, but now this came out, I'm glad. With The Wolverine coming out soon and then this, it looks like we'll be seeing a lot of Hugh Jackman.
