Zack Snyder Will Be Asked To Direct Justice League Depending On Man Of Steel

It's a bird! It's a plane! Why are we so excited?!
Even though it isn't coming out until June, a lot seems to be riding on the success of Man Of Steel. Director Zack Snyder sets a tone for all future DC projects, and Superman's big return to the big screen is going to be an obvious success. It's highly unlikely that it wouldn't. Millions of geeks around the world will go to see it because it's Superman.

In the latest issue of Empire Magazine, it was revealed that Warner Bros will ask Zack Snyder to take the helm of the 2015 blockbuster, Justice League. This news doesn't come as a surprise. Zack Snyder kind of dominates DC right now, especially since Christopher Nolan isn't directing any superhero movies anymore.

Snyder's an amazing director. If you don't believe me, go see Watchmen, Sucker Punch or 300, then tell me I'm wrong. I'm sure Man Of Steel will be a huge hit, so right now, Zack Snyder's the man for the job.

Iron Man 4 May Not Happen; Whedon Hints At New Members In Avengers 2

Genius, billionaire, playboy, philanthropist
So, with the premiere of Iron Man 3 in Los Angeles, pretty much everyone in Marvel's address book walked the red carpet. While many didn't stop to have long interviews with reporters and such, we did get a comment from star Gwyneth Paltrow regarding the future of the Iron Man series. While talking to a Kevin McCarthy on his show on GeekNation.com (found here, the comment is at around the 6:35 to 6:40 mark), Paltrow said "I don't think there's going to be [an Iron Man 4]. I think we're done with Iron Man." Okay, take this as a guess. Paltrow may know something we don't, but she doesn't make the decisions.

However, she did sound genuinely convinced when saying this. And, just to back this up, after The Avengers 2, Robert Downey Jr and Gwyneth Paltrow's contracts are up for renegotiation, or in simple terms, the contract ends and the studio needs to talk with them about if they want to come back etc. So, if there isn't going to be an Iron Man 4, or even no more Robert Downey Jr, then how is The Avengers 3 going to work? Well, Marvel producer Kevin Feige has said in the past that the studio may take a "James Bond" approach and use different actors for the same character. But, that's still not a definite confirmation.

In other Marvel news, director and creative genius behind The Avengers, Joss Whedon, may or may not have told us two new characters in The Avengers 2. When asked about how the script for the sequel is coming along, he said this about some possible new characters. "I've got these two characters, two of my favourite characters from the comic book, a brother-sister act. They're in the movie." Now, that makes me think of Quicksilver and the Scarlet Witch. They are a twin brother-sister combo, and have both been in The Avengers comics. But, this may be just throwing out some rumours for the fans to gasp over, but we can hope.

Once again, this is just pure speculation from two comments. The Avengers 2 won't be out until 2015, and we're going to have to wait and see. I do hope they include Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch, I really like them. What do you guys think? Leave some comments and tell us what you think.

Guys And Dolls Remake In The Works At Fox

We're off to see the Wiza... wait, wrong musical...
Fox has acquired the rights to a film adaption of one of the world's best and most popular musicals, Guys and Dolls. For those unaware of the story, Guys and Dolls is set in 1940's New York and follows some small-time criminals and professional gamblers. The original 1955 adaption was led by the legendary Marlon Brando and Frank Sinatra.

Fox is apparently looking into a younger cast for the remake, because apparently they're eyeing Channing Tatum and Joseph Gordon-Levitt for the cast. I like it. Both were amazing performing at this year's Oscars, so it's going to be fabulous if they're actually cast.

I personally haven't seen Guys and Dolls, but I've always wanted to. It looks so good! I'm definitely going to see the new one, especially if Tatum and JGL are involved. But, it's still in early stages of development, so nothing is official yet. I guess we'll have to wait and see.

Review: Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story (2004)

Director: Rawson Marshall Thurber
Writer: Rawson Marshall Thurber
Starring: Vince Vaughn, Ben Stiller, Christine Taylor, Justin Long

The Plot:
Peter La Fleur (Vince Vaughn) is the owner of Average Joe's Gym, a small facility that doesn't get much business. There's only five customers. It doesn't help that there's a huge, modern, and just generally better gym right across the street that goes by the name of Globo Gym, run by White Goodman (Ben Stiller). Average Joe's is falling on hard times, and is racking up a huge debt. Kate Veatch (Christine Taylor), who works for the bank, tells Peter that the debt has come up to $50,000 and that he'd have to come up with the money in 30 days or else Globo Gym will own the place.

Peter enlists the help of his customers/ friends to come up with the money. That's when they decide to join a dodgeball competition where the grand prize is $50,000. The catch? Globo Gym also has a team, and is working their way to the final so they can beat Average Joe's and take over the gym. It's a real winner-takes-all competition.

Comments:
Dodgeball is one of those films that you come across and think it's a ridiculous concept. I mean, come on, two gym owners competing in a dodgeball competition? But, it was really well crafted. There were so many wise cracks and moments when you just think "did that just happen?" and just plain, good ol' fashioned slapstick comedy.

Vaughn and Stiller both pulled off amazing performances, especially Stiller. Every character was cast perfectly, and the movie was filled with great cameos and guest appearances (Lance Armstrong, Chuck Norris and William Shatner, just to name a few). With so many great surprises, the movie just kept getting better, even if it did start off a bit slow.

Expendables 3 Has Found It's Director

Why is Stallone the only one in sunglasses?
The director's chair has been filled for the action blockbuster, The Expendables 3. The film is the third installment of the action series that includes pretty much every action star of the good ol' days. Sylvester Stallone, who starred in and wrote the first two films, as well as directing the first film, announced on Twitter that he had "found a exciting director" and that the film needed "freshness, class and much badass." It seems like he's found someone he likes, and that is Patrick Hughes.

The Australian isn't shy when it comes to action, directing the 2010 film Red Hill. Stallone has praised Hughes' short film Signs (not that Signs) many times on Twitter throughout the day, so it seems he likes Hughes' work. Let's hope it works out for them.

Dodgeball Sequel Has Been Announced

Look at that 'stache
That's right! The 2004 film about a game usually used played in schools and dominated by jocks has now got a sequel in the works. The film pitted Ben Stiller and Vince Vaughn against each other in a dodgeball tournament, but it seems that the sequel will have the Average Joe's and Globo Gym teams work together to take on a common threat.

Clay Tarver (writer of Joyride and Quantum Hoops) is already working on the script. It seems we'll have to wait a while to see it, with the script only being worked on now and only announced today, but we can wait, right? It has been almost 10 years since the first one, so it will come as a welcome surprise to fans.

I personally can't wait until it comes out. It's a great film that taught us very important life lessons, like "if you can dodge a wrench, you can dodge a ball."

Scream 5 Fan Made Trailer and Scream 4 Review (2011)

Why Hello, I'm Dylan and welcome to Unnecessary 3D...your ultimate place for reviews, news and all types of related articles.

Today, I bring you my fan made Scream 5  Trailer (left). I gathered scenes from many  different movies  and TV series in which  include rumoured actors and actresses. These include: Cougar Town (Courtney Cox), Scary Movie (Anna Farris) and The Hitcher (Sophia Bush). I have lathered these scenes in together as a trailer for Scream 5....the long awaited....and still unconfirmed horror/mystery classic. The franchise has a very strong force of fans in which are demanding for a fifth instalment after Kevin Williamson (writer) and Wes Craven (director) released news of a Scream 5 and 6 for a complete new trilogy. Since then, we have had no news at all except for a few tweets from Wes and Kevin which leave us with hardly any information. Neve Campbell and David Arquette, the stars of the franchise, however have expressed interest in the film. I hope you enjoy my trailer...please leave feedback.

I also bring a review for the previous film Scream 4.

Scream 4

Director: Wes Craven
Writer: Kevin Williamson
Staring: Neve Campbell
Courtney Cox
David Arquette
Emma Roberts
Hayden Panettiere
Dimension Films and The Weinstein Company

Plot:
It's been ten years and Sidney Prescott is now on her last stop for her self-help book "Out of Darkness". She returns to Woodsborrow and reconnects with now Sherrif Dewey Riley and writer Gale Weathers-Riley who are now married. She also reconnects with her cousin Jill and her Aunt  Kate. However, she is also joined by an old friend....Ghostface who now puts all the residents of Woodsborrow in danger including Sidney, Gale, Dewey and Jill along with all her friends including Kirby Reed who now lives in Sidney's old house.

Review:
Waiting ten years to release the new instalment was a very smart move to do. It avoided making ghostface a cliché...they released it in perfect timing. Scream 4, just like the previous three films, has twists and turns through out....keeping you on the edge of your seats. The mysteriousness behind ghostface is still used very effectively....it's a very unpredictable choice.

The risk of trying to compete with the previous three amazing films worked off with them with it being as equally as thrilling. Having the movie based upon a new generation along with the main trio worked really well. It gave a complete different depth and felt as if it were the first of the new trilogy which was the original idea plotted by the mastermind of Kevin Williamson.

Hayden Panettiere's character, Kirby Reed, became a sensation and very popular even before the release....this would be because she reminds people of previous character Randy Meeks who appeared in the previous three films. She became a sensation. Many sources say if there were to be a Scream 5, despite the result of Scream 4, she would be a part of it in some way.

Between a diabolically funny and surprising start and an amazing climax, Scream 4 offers a wild journey along with a series of gory deaths. The movie is for all the old fans and reaches out to a whole new audience...especially ones who weren't old enough too see them the first time round.

I suggest, watch all four movies...who knows....we might finally get a Scream 5 in the next few years.

Rating:
The internet movie data base (IMDb) has a rate of 6.2 out of 10. I give it a rate of 8.8 out of 10.

Thanks for reading.

Review: Push (2009)

Director: Paul McGuigan
Writer: David Bourla
Starring: Chris Evans, Dakota Fanning, Camille Belle, Djimon Hounsou

The Plot:
Nick (Chris Evans) is what's known as a Mover, someone who has telekinesis (they can move things with their minds). After witnessing his father being attacked and killed by agents of "The Division", a secret government organisation who are trying to inject psychics like Nick with a chemical that will boost their powers, but just ends up killing them. Nick is visited by a Watcher (who can see the future) by the name of Cassie (Dakota Fanning), who says that he must find a girl, a Pusher (who can make anyone believe what they put into their heads) named Kira (Camille Belle), who is also the only person to survive The Division's injection, who is the key to finding a case that can stop The Division's plans and help find Cassie's mother.

But, the problem is that The Division agents are looking for Kira as well. The team is lead by Henry Carver (Djimon Hounsou), a Pusher who killed Nick's father. But (plot twist), a Hong Kong mob family, where the males are Bleeders (who can make high-pitched screams that can bursts blood vessels and break anything around them) and a daughter who is a Watcher, is also after Kira.

While running from The Division and the mob family, Nick, Cassie and Kira enlist the help of a Shadow (who can block themselves and others from Watchers and the Sniffs, who can track down a person by smelling an object of theirs.) named Pinky, and a Shifter (who can temporarily change the shape of objects) named Hook in order to steal the case from The Division.

Comments:
Despite the amount of different psychic groups in this movie, and my explanation of the plot doesn't make it sound any less complicated, the plot is easy enough to follow. The plot had enough twists to keep you interested, but not too many to make it impossible to follow (*cough* Inception *cough*). The acting in this is amazingly convincing, I actually felt that Chris Evans was actually a Mover (even though this did come in between when he played The Human Torch in Fantastic Four and Captain America). The action scenes were astounding (especially the one with Nick and Victor in the restaurant) and the visual effects were spot on.

However, one major drawback was the language. Even though it was mostly in English, a significant portion of the film involved people speaking in Cantonese, with no subtitles. Now, I'm all for racial diversity, but at least give us subtitles so we know what they're saying. I got the general idea, but it gets on my nerves when I have no idea what the people are saying.

Rating: 3.5/5

Thanks for reading! We should have another review up next week! Stay tuned. Bye!

Introducing Us

Welcome to Unnecessary 3D! This is a blog that will mostly focus on movies, including older, newer and upcoming films. We will post news the day it breaks about films, write articles about films we'd like to see and more fun things about movies.

We will try to post a movie review every week, but we are nowhere near proper critics. These will be the average person's point of view to films, and won't be like those snobby film critics we all know.

As the blog goes on, and more movies come out, you can put in requests to what movies you'd like us to see and review. Keep in mind we're in Australia, so we have different release dates to America, but we'll try our hardest to see the films you guys suggest.

As for now, that's all I have to say! I hope you stick around and read our blog, hopefully you get something out of it, and feel free to contact us with any suggestions, comments or questions.

Yours truly,
Ryan
